How to use a Righthand with Ramp
Prepare a Ramp receipt exception review with transaction and merchant identities, settled-spend scope, and approved accounting handoffs.
Review missing evidence around settled spend
Righthand can help prepare a Ramp receipt exception worksheet for the finance owner. The useful result connects a selected transaction to its merchant, receipt evidence, and unresolved business-purpose question. It should not change accounting categories, create spend authority, or expose card details to solve a missing-document problem.
Ramp's cards and funds guide distinguishes settled transaction data, merchants, and attached receipts. Preserve transaction identity and available merchantid and merchantname. A normalized merchant name is useful context, but it is not enough to identify a particular charge.
Define spend and receipt scope
Give the approved business or entity, reporting interval, transaction list, receipt policy, and reviewer. For an illustrative month-end preparation task, select settled transactions that the finance owner has marked for receipt review and provide any approved expense-purpose notes.
Inspect Ramp's actual tools through integrations. Transaction and receipt reads can require different provider scopes, and native availability must be checked. If the needed reads are absent, use approved exports or a scoped browser review. Do not request full card numbers or vault access for a receipt worksheet.
A complete worked brief
At 10 AM America/Los_Angeles on Monday, review the approved Ramp settled-transaction list and supplied receipt evidence for the selected entity and interval. Return a private exception worksheet with transaction ID, merchant identity, date, currency and source amount, receipt reference or confirmed absence, supplied business-purpose note, and owner question. Do not change categories, upload receipts, alter funds, or contact employees. Deliver to me for finance-owner review and reconcile transaction counts and receipt matches.
This example is illustrative. The finance owner or accountant decides whether evidence satisfies policy and how to classify an expense. The assistant should not infer a deductible business purpose from the merchant name.
Define the expected worksheet
An example entry could say: “Settled transaction at merchant A; receipt link unavailable; business-purpose note supplied; finance owner must obtain or verify the document.” Missing permission to read a receipt is different from a confirmed absence of one.
A merchant can have several transactions on the same day. Match by transaction reference and supplied receipt relationship, not merchant and amount alone. Keep credits, reversals, and different currencies separate under the owner's reconciliation rule.
Reconcile before requesting corrections
On repeat runs, refresh the exact transactions and receipt links. A receipt uploaded after the snapshot can resolve an earlier exception. Update the existing worksheet rather than asking for the same document again.
Permissions, incomplete pages, and settled-versus-pending scope can affect coverage. State those limits. If supported receipt uploads or accounting updates are later authorized, verify the resulting attachment or field independently. Delivering a worksheet does not change Ramp's financial records.
Use Righthand's connection guide for narrow access and reviewed actions. Check plans for recurring finance preparation and retain the finance owner as the decision maker.
